Dr. Esther de Chantal Bikoi Scholarship

The Dr. Esther de Chantal Bikoi Scholarship for Dental Hygienists is a $1,000 award designed to support and encourage aspiring dental hygienists who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to improving oral health in underserved communities.

Eligibility Requirements:
  1. Must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States.
  2.  Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  3.  Must demonstrate financial need.
Application Materials:
  1. Completed application form.
  2. Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended.
  3. Two letters of recommendation: one from a dental professional or educator and one from a community leader or mentor.
  4. A personal statement (500-750 words) addressing the following:
    • Your motivation for pursuing a career in dental hygiene.
    • Your goals and aspirations as a future dental hygienist.
    • How you plan to use your skills to promote oral health in underserved communities.
    • Any personal experiences or challenges that have shaped your commitment to this field.
  5. A current resume or curriculum vitae.
  6. Financial need documentation (e.g., FAFSA, tax returns, or other evidence of financial hardship).
Selection Criteria:

Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on their academic achievement, leadership potential, commitment to serving underserved communities, and the overall strength of their application materials.

Deadline:

Applications must be submitted by August 16, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
